Selwyn Rawston

Selwyn's passion for fine wine began in the early 2000s while working in the restaurant industry, where he discovered the stories, craftsmanship, and culture behind the world's great wines. That passion led him to earn the prestigious WSET Diploma before joining Empson Wines Canada in 2012, where he has played a key role in building premium wine brands across the Canadian market. In 2017, he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA), further strengthening his expertise in business strategy and leadership. Raised in a family with deep roots in New Zealand winegrowing, Selwyn brings a unique perspective that spans the entire wine value chain—from vineyard and winery to importer, distributor, retailer, and consumer. With more than 20 years of international wine industry experience, he combines commercial expertise with a genuine passion for connecting outstanding wineries with the right markets. As a co-founder of NEWCO Wines, Selwyn is excited to help build a modern, family-owned wine company dedicated to producing exceptional wines and forging lasting partnerships with distributors, buyers, and consumers around the world.
